Obituary for Dr. Letha Joyce Mosley
Dr. Letha Joyce Mosley, Ph.D., OCTA, FOTA, 59, of Conway, Ar departed this life on Saturday, October 7, 2017. She was born November 29, 1957 in Oklahoma City, OK to Rev. Wilbert C. Mosley and Mary Lou Mosley.
She graduated from Star Spencer High School in 1975 and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma and became a Sooner. While attending OU she joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she remained active. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1980. She later earned her Master of Education degree in Instructional Psychology and Technology in 1993. In 2005 she received her Doctor of Philosophy in Adult Education & Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies Certificate from the University of Georgia. She was currently a college professor at the University of Central Arkansas.
She was also a member of Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and Director of the Health and Wellness Ministry. Dr. Mosley was on the board of the Pine Street Community and Development Center. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, was an avid sports fan and a computer-whiz-wan to-be.
She is survived by three sisters Barbra Robertson and Jewel Steverson, both of Oklahoma City, OK and Linda Benson of Kansas City, KS; six brothers, Leroy Davis, Bishop Wilbert C. (Jean) Mosley, Jr., Rev. Ivan (Anna) Mosley, Rev. Dennis Mosley, Rev. David Mosley, all of Oklahoma City, OK and Rev. Herbert (Rosemary) Mosley of Federal Way, Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sorority sisters, extended family, co-workers, her students and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway, AR. Visitation 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home.
Oklahoma visitation will be held 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, October 13, 2017 at Rolfe Funeral Home, 2936 N.E. 36th Street, Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Hillwood Baptist Church, 7901 John Street, Spencer, OK. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Spencer, OK.
