Obituary for Dorothy M. Jackson
Mrs. Dorothy M. (Senior) Jackson, 89, of Conway, Ar departed this life on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She was born to the late Julius and Essie (Collins) Senior on July 15, 1926 in Conway, AR.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Essie Senior; father, Julius Senior; husbands LeRoy Thomas and Ralph C. Jackson, Sr.; daughters Irldeen “Baby Sis” Hill and Edna Thomas Riley.
She confessed a hope in Christ at Union Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma at a very young age. She taught Sunday School and was a part of the choir. After moving to Conway, she united with Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.R. Raynor. She attended Greater Pleasant Branch until her health failed.
Mrs. Jackson retired from Kimberly Clark after many years of faithful contributions to the company. She enjoyed word puzzles and traveling. Cruises were her favorite. She so loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Ralph Jackson, Jr. and Eric Jackson, both of Conway, AR; three daughters, Thedorice “Peaches’ (Luddie) Thompson of Okmugee, OK; Sonya Haynes and Tonya Brockman of Conway, AR; step-mother, Ethel Lee Senior; one brother, Curtis Senior of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Serena Dexter of Conway, AR; Shirley Knuckles and Patricia Hill, both of Detroit, MI; nineteen grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway, AR. Visitation 1-6 pm, Monday, May 23, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment Robinson Cemetery in Conway, AR.
