Obituary for Dannie M. Walker
Mr. Dannie M. Walker, 67, of Little Rock, Ar departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He is the son of Ruthie Lee Dolphin and the late Benjamin Walker Sr., was born July 26, 1951.
Dannie attended G.W. Carver High School and served in the United States Army obtaining an honorable discharge.
Dannie married the love of his life Jean Kendrick in 1971. They remained happily married for 47 years.
He was preceded in death by their only child, Marsha Michelle Walker; grandson Kaleb Uriel Shelton and father Benjamin Walker Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his dedicated wife, Jean Walker; his loving mother, Ruthie Lee Dolphin; Ten sisters Carolyn Rogers, Sherry Bolden, Gwen Walker, Vanessa Dolphin-Edwards, Evelyn Walker Bryant, Tawana Ogeto, Regina Walker, Schantel Walker, Candace Jackson and Teresa Walker; Nine brothers Randy Dolphin, Samuel Walker, Kelvin Dolphin, John Walker, James Dolphin, Perry Walker, Gerry Walker, Bernard Walker, Terris Walker and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He also had lifelong relationships with two very special children, Tyson Davie (whom he considered his grandchild and Tyson referred to Dannie as “Papa”) and his loving Goddaughter, Nikki Surratt.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church, 8112 Bicentennial Road, North Little Rock, AR. Visitation 6 pm – 8 pm, Friday, September 28, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment Haven of Rest Cemetery in Brinkley, AR.
