Obituary for Corine Jones - Smith
Corine Jones Smith, 88 of Conway, departed this life April 30, 2008 in Kansas City, MO. She was born to Reddick Jones and Charlotte Jackson Jones on February 11, 1920 in Damascus, Arkansas. She was the fourth child born into the family and was the only living sibling of her generation. Corine confessed a hope in Christ at a young age and joined the Solomon Grove Baptist Church. Corine moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to live with her aunt. Later she moved back to Little Rock where she met and married Nallend Smith. They later moved to Kansas City, MO and then moved back to Conway, Arkansas where she worked at Pine Street School as a cook. She also worked at Conway Memorial Hospital. She was also employed at Virco Manufacturing Plant where she retired. After retirement she started babysitting in her home. She joined the Pleasant Branch Baptist Church in 1950. Her favorite song down through the many years has been "The Lord Has Been Good To Me". She also served as President of the Women's Mission Society. Corine was a lover of people, she always had her door open to anyone who needed a place to stay. She was a member of the cheerful Givers Club of Conway. She was preceded in death by her husband Nallend Smith and a daughter Faydean Dunevant. She leaves to cherish her memory Two Daughters, Helen Virginia Jones Brown of Twin Groves; Belinda Carolyn Smith Kelly, Raytown, MO; One son, Samuel Smith of Russellville; 16 Grandchildren, 35 Great-grandchildren host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday May 3, 2008 at the Solomon Grove Baptist Church, Twin Groves, Arkansas. Visitation will be Friday 6-7pm at Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Conway. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...... WE CARE".
