Mr. Clarence Davis, Jr., was born on July 27, 1946 to the late Clarence Davis, Sr. and Margaret Louise Hill-Davis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie Jackson and brother Larry Davis.
Clarence was raised by his grandfather the late Rev. Ivory Osby Hill. He was the second oldest of four children. He gave his life to Christ in 1963 at St. Matthew #3 in Blackwell, AR. He was a member of Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Charles E. Brown for eight years, where he served faithfully on the Usher Board.
He attended L.W. Sullivan High School in Morrilton, AR and later graduated in 1966 from Central High School in Little Rock, AR. He joined the military on June 20, 1967. He served twenty years in the Navy. He was ranked as a Boiler Tech E6. He was honorably discharged and retired in 1987.
After retirement, from 1988 – 1995, he held several jobs. He attended Superior Truck Driving School in Rialto, CA and drove for various companies: Broomall Trucking in Santa Ana, California as a local and tri-state driver; KLLM in Jackson, MS as a cross country driver; Mechanix Fab, Inc. in Chino, CA as a fabricating helper and Van Mobile Service in Chio, CA as a Diesel Mechanics helper.
On May 9, 2024, Clarence was called home to rest.
He is left to cherish his memories to his wife, Anna Davis of Little Rock, AR; three children Gail Elaine Davis, Caroline Louise Davis and John Ira Davis, all of Jacksonville, FL; two stepchildren Tanzia Rasheed of Little Rock, AR and Adam (Brittney Wolfe) Rasheed of Rison, AR; one sister Minnie Louise (Leonard) Brogdon of Detroit, MI; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 24, 2024 at Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1274 Hwy 95 North, Morrilton, AR.
Interment 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, NLR, AR with full military honors.
