Obituary for Carolyn Louise Oliver
Carolyn Louise Oliver, 38, departed this life Thursday, July 10, 2014 in an automobile accident on Hwy 36 in Vilonia, AR. She was born on September 26, 1975 to the late Logan David “L.D” and Rosalie (Suttle) Oliver in Conway, Ar.
She is preceded in death by her parents, L.D. and Rosalie Oliver; brothers Logan David "Sonny" Oliver, Jr. and George Everett Oliver, and her dog, Rosey.
Carolyn graduated from Conway High School in 1994 and joined the United State Air Force Reserves enlisting on the 8th of September 1994 in honor of Ray Briggler (Godfather). Then, she went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at UCA and was currently working on her Master’s degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. While pursuing her undergraduate degree in nursing, she also worked as a juvenile detention officer and part time deputy at the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office. In 2007, she went back to work as the medical administrator for 2 years. In 2008, she received a commission as an Officer in the United States Air Force Reserve. In 2012, she received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the UCA Department of Nursing.
Through Carolyn’s training in the Air Force Reserves, her BS in Nursing, and at the Sheriff’s Office, she has been able to touch many lives. She worked in many different areas of nursing including emergency nursing, general surgery, pediatric/adult endocrinology clinic with research, outpatient surgery, correctional nursing, and assistant nurse manager of a dementia special care unit at North Little Rock VA Hospital.
Carolyn was one of the most compassionate people you would ever meet. She had a smile for everyone she came into contact with. One of her favorite things was singing with her choir director, Johnny Lewis. Also, she enjoyed learning from her pastor, Dale Wicker. She also loved being with her mother, Rosalie and dog Rosey.
She is survived by her brother, George D. Oliver and his wife, Alisha; two nieces, Lydia and Abigail; two half sisters, Wanda Wiedower, Wilda Hiland and husband Dawn, and a host of many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 5 pm, Saturday, July 19, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2045 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, AR. A Celebration of Life Party will follow immediately. Come and share a joyful memory. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, July 18, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, AR.
