Obituary for Carey N. Merriweather
Mr. Carey N. Merriweather, 66, of Little Rock, AR departed this life on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born March 5, 1955 in Athens, GA to the late Oscar and Ruby (Washington) Merriweather.

Carey is preceded in death by his parents and brother James Merriweather.

Carey confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, Arkansas.

Carey was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1975 and continued his education at Southern Arkansas University Tech in Camden, AR where he studied Art and Visual Culture.

After college, he began his career working for several companies to include Junking Photographic and J.D. Hodges Oil & Gas in Oklahoma. He ultimately found his professional calling as a Home Health Care Professional. Over his 35-year career he provided support services that allowed his clients who were aging and the ones with special needs live safely at home. At the end of his career Carey moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to work for Ace of Diamonds Products, Inc. as its President of Operations. Carey moved back to Arkansas in 2020 and continued his career in home health care until his health forced him into retirement.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Carey also was an accomplished Artist and Photographer. His works can be found in several places of worship in the Central Arkansas area, where he created baptism murals and other religious renderings. He also commissioned hundreds of portraits, landscapes, abstract paintings, and photographs that are currently displayed in various points of interest in the Little Rock metropolitan area.

Carey leaves to cherish his memories two brothers Eric Wayne (Dieann) Merriweather of Milwaukee, WI; Stephan Joe (Shannon) Harris, Sr. of Midlothian, TX; uncle Charles (Doris) Martin of Little Rock, AR; two aunts Angie Martin of Kansas City, MO and Katherine (Larry) Smith of Little Rock, AR; two nephews James (Natalie) Veasley of Mansfield, TX and Stephan Harris II of Arlington, TX; one niece Brishonay Williams Merriweather; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the funeral home. Visitation 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Both services are at the funeral home.
