Obituary for Buford Maltbia
Mr. Buford Maltbia, 67, of Springfield, Ar departed this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was born to the late Baxter and Gladys (Winston) Maltbia on June 18, 1947 in Conway, AR.

He was a 1965 graduate of Pine Street High School in Conway. Buford served in the United States Army Air Calvary in the Vietnam War, was honorably discharged in 1968 and later became a Disabled American Veteran. He worked as a factory worker and was also self-employed.

He accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Plumerville, AR under the leadership of Pastor Elijah Carpenter as his health allowed.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife Gladys M. Maltbia (married August 23, 2011); two daughters, Martha Deneil Hill of Conway, AR and Daphne Abston of Miami, FL; three brothers, Ellis Wilbur (Dorothy) Maltbia; Baxter L. (Lorine) Maltbia and Larry Maltbia, all of Conway, AR; one sister, Valvia Jean Smith of Conway, AR; Four grandsons, Devin Carey of Miami, FL; Brandon Hill, Shaun Hill and Damien Wallace, all of Maumelle, AR; father and mother-in-law Lee Roy and Blanche Fowler of Springfield, AR; Two step children, April (Lathan) Tolbert of Fort Worth, TX and Todd (Keneshia) Kirkland of Little Rock, AR; Six step grandchildren Lathan II and Aria Tolbert, Trinity, Kenia, Todd, Jr. and William Kirkland; great grandchildren Alexis Hill, Harmony Hill and Mark Anthony Hill and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at True Holiness Saints Center, 198 East Hwy 286, Conway, AR. Visitation 1-6 pm, Monday, May 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment Ray Cemetery in Conway, AR.
