Obituary for Betty Kemp Macon
Betty Kemp Macon, 67, of Twin Groves, departed this life April 26, 2012. She was born on May 4, 1944 in Damascus, AR to the late Louis and Willie Mae Kemp. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Neal Macon, and a brother, Dewey Kemp.
She enjoyed an affectionate relationship with six siblings. As the third child born, she gave compassion, wisdom , and incredible joy to the lives of her family.
Betty attended school inTwin Grove Arkansas. She continued her educational pursuits and achieved her license as a cosmetologist. Her hallmark as an entrepreneur, manifested as an antique trader, where she continued to excel as a savvy business owner until her illness.
Her journey with the Lord began at an early age. She accepted Christ as the center of her joy. She was a faithful member of the Solomon Grove Church in Twin Grove Arkansas.
Betty met the love of her life, Elvin, and was compelled to share their love with each other. They exchanged marriage vows on January 4,1963 and shared forty-nine years of devoted marriage, and the birth of two sons.
She blazed an incredible trail with limitless giving, sharing, and memories to her loving family: Devoted Husband, Elvin Macon of Twin Groves, Arkansas; son,  Steven Macon, of Twin Grove, AR; Five Grandchildren; One Great Grandchild; Four Sisters  Della (Chancey) McGowan of Atlanta, Georgia, Onita Quarles of Atlanta, Georgia, and Scottie Clemmons of Rockford, Illinois; Brothers Shelby (Juanita) Kemp of Houston, Arkansas, Terry Kemp of Twin Groves, Arkansas ; Nine brother in laws and two sister in laws, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Solomon Grove Baptist Church, 273 Solomon Grove Road, Twin Groves, AR. Interment Solomon Grove Cemetery. Visitation 1-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
