Obituary for Bessie Lucendia "Cindy" Hightower Wesley
Mrs. Bessie Lucendia “Cindy” Hightower Wesley, 74, was born October 13, 1945 in Conway, Arkansas to the late William and Bernice Thompson Hightower. She transitioned to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 20, 2020.
Bessie gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Gale Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Forrest C. Cooper. She served on the Women’s Mission and the Hospitality ministry, greeting members and guests as they entered the church. She will forever be remembered for her smile, warm hugs, and sweet spirit.
Bessie was an awesome, devoted, and beloved mother, stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bernice Hightower; husband Oscar Wesley, Sr. and six brothers, Ellis Hightower, Zebbede Louis Hightower, LC Hightower, Jimmy Hightower, Clarence William “Sonny” Hightower, and James Hightower.
Bessie leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, LouAnn (Theodore) Brown of Damascus, AR, Sandra Gardner of Atlanta, GA, Lucille Wesley of Conway, AR, three sons, Anthony “Smooth” Brown and Alfred Wesley of Conway, AR, Oscar (Tyshena) Wesley, Jr. of Fayetteville, GA, one stepdaughter, Margaret Ann Shannon of Memphis, TN, one stepson, Keena Freeman of Sweet Home, AR, nine grandchildren, Monica Brown, Justin Brown, Jessica Brown, Dre’El Blanchard, Kile Blanchard, Davonte Wesley, Megan Wesley, Khalil Wesley, Noelle Wesley, five great grandchildren, Camryn Brown, Cameron Blanchard, Aubrey Blanchard, Zion Wesley, Kylen Wesley, three sisters, LueEthel Flood of Flint, MI, Minnie Jean Hightower of Pasadena, CA, Lucille Hightower of Conway, AR, three brothers, Johnnie (Tammie) Hightower and Luther Leon (Brenda) Hightower of Conway, AR and Anthony Wayne Hightower of North Little Rock, AR, one uncle, James Hightower of Tulsa, OK, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church, #8 West Brannon Drive, Conway, AR. Visitation 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Friday, June 26, 2020 at the funeral home.
