Obituary for Barbara J. Gault
Mrs. Barbara Jean (Lasker) Gault, 78, of Conway, AR departed this life on Thursday, August 17, 2023. She was born June 30, 1945 in Conway, AR to the late Mae Opal and Sylvanus Lasker, Sr.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Taft Gault, Jr., daughter Gwendolyn Gault Cook, mother Mae Opal, father Sylvanus Lasker, Sr., sisters Deloris Gatlin, Doris Dawson, Lou Dovie Pace and Linda Lasker; brothers Billy Lasker, Lloyd Lasker, Sr. and Sylvanus Lasker.
Barbara attended Pine Street High School (Class of 1963). Upon graduation, she moved to Detroit and worked at General Motors for several years. She later moved back to Conway and worked at Kimberly Clark for many years before retiring.
Her hobby was sitting on her front porch watching the kids and hollering across the hill.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent Earnest L. Sweat III. She was the president of the Hospitality Ministry for many years.
She married Taft Gault, Jr. and enjoyed sixty years of marriage. To this marriage four children were born.
She leaves beloved family members to carry on her legacy: two sons Taft D’wayne Gault and Kenneth Lazon Gault, both of Conway, AR; one daughter Kimberly Gault of Conway, AR; four brothers Vernon (Arlene) Lasker, Herman (Essie) Lasker, Johnny (Carrie) Lasker and Clarence (Alberta) Lasker, all of Conway, AR; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a very special friend Jeannie Mattison and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ, 349 Hwy 365 South in Conway, AR. Walk-thru visitation will be 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, August 25, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment Ray Cemetery in Conway, AR.
