Obituary for Arizona Davis
Mrs. Arizona Jefferson Davis was born December 11,1929 to the late King Solomon and Lula Thomas Jefferson. She departed this life on August 8, 2017.
She professed a hope in Christ at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She was known as Mama, Granny, Granny-Granny, and Aunt Zonie. She loved working Word Search Puzzles, fishing, and playing spades. She loved any type of fried fish, okra, green tomatoes, purple onions, and buttermilk with cornbread She was known for her strong sense of independence and telling the truth whether you asked for it or not.
She was united in marriage to the late Chester Davis on April 13, 1948. To this union 13 children were born.
5 children Richard, Patricia, Linda, Ben, and Chester Lee and siblings Calvin Stokes Jefferson, May Lottie Jefferson, JD Jefferson and Allie Jefferson proceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Loria Winston and a sister in law Alice T. Harris. Best friend Vivian Cross. 8 children Martha A. Davis of Little Rock, AR, Gloria M. Davis of Marked Tree, AR, Mary A. Davis Morrilton, AR, Annette Davis of North Little Rock, AR, Jeanette Davis of Morrilton, Anna M. Davis (Clarence) Little Rock, AR, Maxine Foster of Little Rock, AR, Alex Davis (Latonya) of Plumerville, AR, 20 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 729 Mt. Olive Road, Plumerville, Ar. Visitation 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, August 11, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment Owens Cemetery in Plumerville, Ar.
