Obituary for Annie Moton - Kornegay
Annie Lavern Moton-Kornegay, 55, North Little Rock, departed this life July 20, 2007 in Memphis, TN.  She is the daughter of Emmett Moton, Sr. and Ruth Pace Moton. She was born March 29, 1952 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.She was preceded in death by her brother, Rayton Marcia Moton and father Emmett Moton, Sr. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized in August of 1965 under the leadership of Rev. J.L. Taylor.Annie received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas at Conway. She continued her education and received two Master's Degree's from University of Texas at Austin in Maternal Child Health and Teaching and Maternal Child Health. She joined the US Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant and later transferred to the US Army. She retired from the military as a Lieutenant Colonel.Annie was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Ruth Pace Moton, Conway; Two Sons - Johnathan Kornegay of Maryland; Jamar Kornagay, Tennessee; Three Sisters - EssieLasker, Conway; Lillie Williams and Vernessa Ervin both of North Little Rock; Three Brothers - Emmett Moton of Little Rock; Joseph Motton and Clarence Moton both of North Little Rock. Funeral services will be 10am Wednesday July 25, 2007 at Trinity Grove Baptist Church. Interment Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery 1501 West Maryland Ave. North Little Rock with Full Military Honors.
