Obituary for Hurmer Lee Wright
Mrs. Hurmer Lee Wright, 87, of Conway, Ar departed this life on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. She was born on November 8, 1929 in Mayflower, Ar to the late Hubert and Lula (Dudley) Irby.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lula and Hubert Irby; brother Hubert Irby Jr., and three sons, Lloyd, Johnny, and James Duggar.

She attended Mayflower Elementary School also known as White City Public School. Upon graduating from White City, she attended Conway County Training High School in Menifee, Arkansas.

Hurmer Lee professed a Hope in Christ at the age of 10 years old and united with Palarm Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She moved to Gold Lake and moved her membership to Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until death.

She was President of the Mt. Gale Women’s Missionary Society Ministries for 40 years. She was the Secretary of the Middle Western District East Wing Church and Singing Union for 33 years. She was very active in the Middle Western District Association until failing health.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lee Andrew Wright, Sr.; five daughters, Wanda J. Garth Maltbia (Joel) of Conway, AR; Verna Lee Wheat (Herman Jr.) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brenda Carol Tyus of Little Rock, Arkansas, Patricia Ann Maryman (Victor) of Conway, Arkansas and Sandra Lynette Stubbs (Kent) of Mayflower, Arkansas; one son, Rev. Raymond Charles Duggar (Joyce) of Morrilton, Arkansas; three stepsons: Lee Andrew Wright, Jr., Stephen Wright, and Marcus Wright of Conway, Arkansas; Ten stepdaughters: Carolyn Black of Little Rock, Lois Wright, Diane Wright of Conway, JoAnn Ealy (Wilbert) of Damascus, Arkansas, Gladys Sullivan, Charletha Harper (Arnez), Lisa Kay Maltbia (Anthony), Sharon Earnest (Sherman), Shauna Wright all of Conway, Arkansas, and Caressa Hill of Sherwood, Arkansas; Sixty-five grandchildren, more than sixty great-grand children, and ten great great-grandchildren: one sister, Sophia Akins of Conway, Arkansas, her nephews: Larry Akins (Jae) of Conway, Arkansas, Robert Irby (Ann) of Kansas City, Missouri, nieces: Re-Ester Norman (Vernell) of Austin, Texas, Bobby Irby Bennett (John), Diane Mitchell and Darlene Salaam (Amir) of Kansas City, Missouri; a “special daughter” Jeannie Mattison of Conway, Arkansas; “special friend” Sis. Mary Hollerman of Conway, Arkansas and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church, #8 Brannon Drive, Conway, Ar. Visitation 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, February 24, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment Palarm Chapel Cemetery in Mayflower, Ar.
