Joseph & Cameron, I had the pleasure of knowing and working with your Mother for several years at UCA. I often went to her for advice. I thought so much of your Mom that I tried to take everything in - her style, she always looked fabulous; her creativity in her classes; and any parenting advice I could get from her. Her children were EVERYTHING to her! She was so proud of you and bragged about you both all the time! I know that you know this, but you must not forget. She was not ready to leave you - but she can rest peacefully knowing that she left a beautiful legacy behind. Please know how much your Mother was loved and how much she will be missed.

Dear Hilliard Family, I am still in shock as I try to comprehend that my friend is gone. Olive and I met at U of Houston during our freshman year. Regenia, Olive and Bell (R.O.B) became inseparable. We pledged Delta together with Olive standing right in front of me in the Fall '76 line. We had our last three hour talk in early January, when she spoke of her children Cameron and JoJo, her father's illness, her sisters and her life. She said to me "you know Regenia, I find that when I pray, and it is often, I find myself telling God how thankful I am.". She expressed how proud she was of all of her children, and that she truly liked her children as adults. She made plan to visit NY during March break, and we hoped to get together. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy, and to let you know that I join you in mourning the passing of a dear friend, who had class and style unequaled by many. Rest in Peace Olive, TTBOD, Regenia

During the past few years at UCA I have “lived” next door to Olive. Our offices seem to always end up next to each other, a fact that I loved because I loved her. Her importance in my life kind of snuck up on me – I hadn’t really realized until this past week that she was probably my closest friend at work. We had so much fun kidding each other and just plain having fun as well as trying to help each other do as good a job teaching BOC as we could. She always loved my ideas, always making me feel so special. I was always wishing we could have more time to just visit, but she always seemed to be on the phone with her family…you all were SO IMPORTANT to her. After she lost her dad, I told her how I loved the fact that I felt I knew her better after she shared stories of him with me. About three weeks ago she especially asked me to pray for her family, and I have been and will continue to do so. We were all so lucky to have known her, she will be missed by me every day. Please be happy, it would make her so proud!

I'm sorry that I never had the pleasure of meeting your mom but from all that I have heard I know that she is a beautiful soul. I also know that in addition to our Blessed Mother Mary, whom Jesus shares with us all; you now have your own natural mother in heaven who is still watching over, protecting and praying for you. I hope that we will see you soon. Love, Cousin Loretto

Olive was such a special person. The epitome of grace, class, intellect, and eloquence. I enjoyed her observations on life and the joyous twinkle in her eye when she talked about her children. So many of us are better human being for having know her and it is now our duty to carry her legacy of nobility and goodness to a world desperately in need of both.

Professor Hilliard made a lasting impression on me. She was my Speech Communication teacher during the Fall 2008 Semester at UCA. Her and I had a mutual respect for each other and she thought very highly of me, as well as I of her. I often went to Professor Hilliard and asked her opinions. She allowed me to use her for reference purposes and also wrote letters of recommendation for me. I am very disappointed she has passed away. She touched my life in a positive way and I will miss seeing her around campus.

I am so sorry about the untimely loss of your loved one. I have known members of the family for a long time, although I didn't know Ms. Hilliard personally. Sometimes condolences seems inadequate but my thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue to mourn. The Beatitudes tells us "blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." May your heavy hearts get lighter as you embrace the days ahead.

Ms. Hilliard was my speech professor fall of 2008. She was the perfect, shining example of a true lady. Intelligent, strong, and confident, she encouraged her students to be the same. She instilled values and the need for mutual respect in her classroom. The world has lost a very unique and special person. My prayers go out to her family.

The times Ken has worked for her on the house she has taken us in as dear friends like we have know her forever. She talked about the two of you constantly and just by the light in her eyes you could tell you were her everything.May God bless you during this time and know she is with you always. She will be so very missed.
