Obituary for Savanah Jernigan
Mrs. Savanah Jernigan, 87, of North Little Rock, Ar departed this life on Sunday, September 3, 2017.

On December 3, 1929 in Lonoke, Arkansas Savanah Jernigan was born to Irene Johnson and Field Neal, Sr.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Jernigan, Sr.; eldest daughter Brendia Crosby, sister Virginia Kearney, brothers Jessie Lee Neal, Field Neal, Jr., Hodges Neal, AD Neal and Rooselvelt Neal.

In 1949, she met and married her loving husband, Henry Jernigan, Sr. Six children were born of this union of over forty-five years.
She worked at St. Vincent Hospital for over 30 years as a nurse. She always loved helping others.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, football and spending quality time with family.

She leaves to mourn her passing her youngest daughter, LaVerne Walker of Houston, TX; four sons Henry Jernigan, Jr., Holliest Jernigan, Edward Jernigan and Hugh Jernigan, all of North Little Rock, AR; two grandchildren, Delvin (LaNiya) Walker of Houston, TX and Darius (Margaret) Walker of Los Angeles, CA; sister LeAnna (Travis) Matthews of Los Angeles, CA; three great grandchildren, Dayonah, Darren and Dakota Walker, all of Houston, TX; niece and nephew Lisa and Marlow Matthews of Los Angeles, CA; former son-in-law, Jimmy Walker of Little Rock, Ar and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, September 11, 2017 at Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home. Interment St. Matthews Cemetery in Kerr, Arkansas
