Larry G. Acklin was born on August 13, 1948 in Mayflower, Arkansas the eldest son of the late Lilbon C. Acklin and Ethel Palmer Acklin.  After graduating from Mayflower High School, he entered the University of Central Arkansas, graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Journalism.   Upon graduation from college Larry G. Acklin began working for a major manufacturer of school and commercial furniture in Conway, Arkansas for some twenty-one years in Marketing and Sales.   Larry G. Acklin entered an apprenticeship program in funeral directing with one of the local funeral homes in the Little Rock, Arkansas area and began his professional career as a funeral director.  Upon completing the apprenticeship, he founded the Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway, Arkansas. At the time he was still employed full time as a marketing executive.   Larry G. Acklin was truly a man of great vision. He later opened Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home in Morrilton, Arkansas and later Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has been taking care of Arkansas families for some twenty-five years.   Mr. Acklin is married to Mrs. Ernestine Henderson Acklin and they have two children, André D. Acklin, who is Vice-President and General Manager of the Corporation and Twyla L. Acklin Wyrick. Larry G. and Ernestine have been blessed with four grandchildren of whom they are most proud, Xavier Acklin, Andrea Acklin, Quenton Wyrick and Kennedi Wyrick.   The company logo is the "praying hand", which symbolizes that the company was built on prayer since its beginning. Larry G. Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Cares".     André D. Acklin, Vice-President/General Manager     André D. Acklin, son of Mr. Larry G. and Ernestine H. Acklin, is a native of Conway, Arkansas. André is a 1986 graduate of Conway High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. André is also licensed with the Arkansas State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.   As Vice President/General Manager of Larry G. Acklin Funeral Homes in Conway, Little Rock and Morrilton, Arkansas, André is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all three funeral home locations. This has afforded André the opportunity to service, comfort and touch the hearts of many, many families throughout central Arkansas, and form lasting relationships for years to come.   André's family includes his wife Sharon Acklin, and their children Xavier and Andrea Acklin.     Twyla L. Acklin Wyrick, Executive Office and Financial Manager Twyla L. Acklin Wyrick, daughter of Mr. Larry G. and Ernestine H. Acklin, is a native of Conway, Arkansas. Twyla is a 1994 graduate of Conway High School and a 1999 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Over the last five years Twyla has been employed by one of the major telecommunication companies as a financial analyst before coming to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home full time.   As Executive Office and Financial Manager of Larry G. Acklin Funeral Homes in Conway, Little Rock, and Morrilton, AR, Twyla is responsible for managing all staff and office functions at all three locations. In addition, Twyla is responsible for overseeing all financial matters at the funeral homes.   Twyla’s family includes her husband, Eddie Wyrick, Jr., and their children, Quenton and Kennedi.
